Carnegie Hall recently created an Open Educational Resources Initiative, with a goal to develop a comprehensive collection of open educational resources for K-12 music learning. This planning grant would allow Carnegie to engage an outside expert in the OER field to develop a planning framework in which Carnegie can move forward as a leading developer and provider of OER for music education, and as a key stakeholder in raising awareness of OER among music educators and nonprofit music organizations. The project will result in a set of recommendations that will inform Carnegie's implementation of OER and support teachers needs for both integrated and skill-based music education resources.
