Overview
As a program of California State University, Fresno, Central Valley Health Policy Institute seeks to improve equity in health and health care by developing the capacity of the region's leaders for policy analysis and program development. Funding from the Packard, Irvine, and Hewlett foundations will allow the Institute to expand its leadership development training, the Health Policy Leadership Program, to 30 leaders of grassroots organizations. Now in its fifth year, the program annually brings together 15-25 emerging leaders from diverse professional and personal backgrounds to learn about emerging health policy issues, strategies for analysis of health policy issues, and opportunities for regional approaches that support local efforts to resolve these issues. (New, $60,692, 40% of project budget)
