Overview
Founded in 1966, California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) is a legal services program that annually reaches 48,000 low-income individuals residing in 22 rural counties. CRLA focuses its service delivery and advocacy through seven priority areas: community development, labor, education, civil rights, housing, health and human well-being, and leadership development. The organization will partner with the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) providing expertise on issues of immigration law, procedure, and policy. Both organizations worked together in the first phase of the Community Leadership Project, and they will formally coordinate grantmaking and technical assistance activities in Phase 2.
