Overview
The California Alliance for Arts Education is the only statewide organization that brings together primary constituencies and advocates for arts education, annually serving more than 100,000 artists, arts organizations, K-12 teachers, state and local education departments, and parents and PTAs. The Alliance is a cornerstone grantee of Hewlett’s arts education efforts, an acknowledged key leader in the arts education advocacy field and a powerful ally in statewide efforts to increase arts education in the public school system. With an increased focus on deploying federal Title I dollars on arts education in California, the Alliance will convene administrators from 300 schools to raise awareness of the role the arts can play in achieving Title I goals, and develop an online system of tools and resources for educators.

for a communications rollout of arts education research
Create CA is the only statewide organization dedicated to promoting, supporting, and advocating for visual and performing arts education for preschool through post-secondary students in California’s public school system. Through a leadership council, Create CA convenes key stakeholders to support efforts to increase arts education in the state’s public schools. Through training, online resources, consulting, and support of the Arts Education Data Project, Create CA supports 100,000 artists, K-12 teachers, parents, educators, and advocates in their school-based advocacy efforts. This grant to Create CA will support the statewide dissemination of a forthcoming report by SRI on the state of arts education in California public schools, commissioned by the Performing Arts Program. for leadership transition
The California Alliance for Arts Education (CAAE) promotes, supports and advocates for visual and performing arts education for preschool through post-secondary students in California schools. It is the only statewide organization that brings together all primary constituencies for arts education, annually serving over 100,000 artists, arts organizations, K-12 teachers, state and local education departments, and parents and PTAs. It is an acknowledged key leader in the arts education advocacy field and a powerful ally in statewide efforts to increase arts education in the public school system. With the imminent departure of its Executive Director, this grant would provide support during this critical transition, with a focus on building the organization’s capacity for short and long term fund development.
