Brightline’s community-oriented lawyers, policy experts, and organizers connect American communities most in need to critical policymaking levers at the local and state level, which can then be modeled nationwide. Brightline Defense Project is an environmental justice nonprofit that bridges policy advocacy and on-the-ground partnerships to promote sustainability and opportunity in frontline communities. This organizational effectiveness grant will build the organization's capacity to meet the vision of the new strategic plan. This work will include investing in the team, developing internal leadership, strengthening systems and management practices, deepening the engagement of the Board, and raising the financial resources needed to execute the theory of change. There is also an allocation in this grant for wellness in furtherance of the organization’s charitable purpose. (Substrategy: U.S. National Policy)
