for general operating support
Black Feminist Future is a member-centered organization focused on the dynamic possibilities of galvanizing the social and political power of Black women, girls, and gender-expansive people toward liberation. It accomplishes this by building and nourishing the leadership of fierce Black feminists, fortifying aligned organizations and movements, and shifting cultural norms. (Strategy: U.S. Reproductive Equity)
for support of the Okra Collaborative, a partnership of Black feminist organizations
This grant is a collaboration between the Racial Justice Initiative and the Gender Equity and Governance Program, in support of the Okra Collaborative, a partnership launched in 2021 designed to identify Black feminist leaders and organizations globally. The project is coordinated by Black Feminist Future in the United States, and aims to map Black feminist organizations working in the African diaspora to increase connectivity, share resources, and exchange ideas across Black feminist movements. Through the seeding funds provided by this grant, the partnership will invest in building collective power while aligning on transnational issues of interest.
