Overview
Founded in 2007 by former Senate majority leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole, and George Mitchell, the Bipartisan Policy Center is a Washington, DC–based think tank devoted to promoting bipartisanship. The Center supports deliberations on a range of issues by former elected and appointed officials, business and labor leaders, and academics and advocates. This grant follows an earlier one and would support the organization’s Commission on Political Reform, launched in 2010, to develop practical recommendations addressing current problems of political polarization with a focus on (1) congressional reform; (2) changes to our electoral system; and (3) removing obstacles to public service.
