Overview
Berkeley Repertory Theatre produces ambitious new and classic plays and attracts 160,000 patrons annually. A local arts leader with a national reputation, it earned six Tony nominations in 2010. Renewed operating support would enable Berkeley Rep to stage challenging work at the highest professional level and deepen its commitment to cultivating an interest in the arts among schoolchildren in dozens of Bay Area schools, students in its youth theater programs, and increasing numbers of audience members under the age of thirty.
