Overview
This grant will support the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s International Energy Studies Department (IES) in India. The IES assists countries and partners in identifying and utilizing clean energy resources, energy efficiency opportunities, as well as advance clean transportation. With this support, the IES will provide strategic, analytical, and technical assistance to various institutions in India to accelerate the deployment of more efficient and plug-in electric vehicles.

Grants to this Grantee
for the India Energy program  
This grant will support the nonpartisan research and analyses of India Energy Program at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The research will help to establish a pathway for achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of energy independence by 2047, using clean technologies. In order to achieve this, for the next two years the program will focus on supporting the implementation of a 500 GW renewable energy target in the power sector, and assisting in the establishment of sector-specific targets and strategies for industry and transport.
