Overview
In 2011, with pilot funding from the Knight Foundation, Beneficent Technology prototyped SocialCoding4Good, a project to amplify awareness about humanitarian free and open source software (HFOSS); connect passionate, highly skilled corporate and individual technical volunteers to HFOSS opportunities; and support sustainable HFOSS projects . As the SocialCoding4Good project transitions from an exploratory pilot to an established platform with a thriving community, this grant would allow Beneficent Technology to develop dedicated resources for program and community management.
