Overview
Bandaloop is an Oakland based aerial and vertical dance company with a local, national and global audience. Bandaloop has earned a reputation for its site-specific work performed at urban festivals, and on buildings and natural spaces. Through its partnership with Destiny Arts Center (also a Hewlett Foundation grantee), Bandaloop provides a highly regarded spring residency program for underserved youth. The organization also offers classes and workshops in its West Oakland studio for professional dancers and amateurs who want to learn aerial dance. Renewed support will assist Bandaloop in deepening its performance presence in the Bay Area and stabilizing its financial base, which fluctuates depending on tour bookings.
