Overview
B Lab is a nonprofit organization building a movement of people using business as a force for good. It provides certification, technical assistance and impact improvement programs to a global network of nearly 80,000 private sector leaders. This grant will support B Lab to engage legal and policy experts to scope an approach and framework to continue their work to upend "shareholder primacy" (the legal and corporate governance practices that restrict the purpose of business to driving shareholder profit.) B Lab is also developing the capacity to support U.S. based private sector leaders -- particularly those who are concerned about climate change and racial equity -- to advocate for upending shareholder primacy.
