Overview
FROM PREVIOUS GRANT #2011-6074: Ashkenaz presents world music and functions like a community center, nightclub, and art school. Charging low-priced admission to concerts offered six nights a week, Ashkenaz's open-to-all-ages policy and successful history of community outreach has resulted in an annual audience of 35,000. Ashkenaz offers nearly forty music and dance classes each week to kids and adults, and its youth programs and onsite summer camp attract more than 5,000 young people annually. SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT: Supplemental funding will provide additional operating funds for the remainder of the general operating grant period to, in part, support the needs of the organization following a robbery that occurred during a performance in April 2013.
