Overview
In recognition of the Hewlett Foundation’s 50th anniversary, the Hewlett 50 Arts Commissions initiative supports the creation and premiere of 50 exceptional works of performing art. This grant will support / Art Foundation (Slash Art Foundation) in developing and presenting lead artist Jen Lui’s “Ghost World.” The project will culminate in a multisite performance and augmented reality experience that draws connections between women laboring in the electronics industries in Asia and Asian American women facing racialized gender violence in the United States. This grant supports the Hewlett Foundation’s longstanding commitment to the performing arts in the Bay Area.
