Anti-Defamation League

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is the leading anti-hate organization in the world. Founded in 1913, its timeless mission is “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of antisemitism and bias, using innovation and partnerships to drive impact. This grant supports the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, of which ADL is a co-chair. The march grew from a gathering of eight legacy civil rights organizations held at the White House with President Biden in August 2022. Partner organizations collectively will use the march as an opportunity to re-center and engage communities to fight the continued erosion of our rights by legislative bodies and courts across the country.

This grant to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will support a three-year evaluation of its No Place for Hate framework, a K-12 anti-bias framework on school climate. The study will begin in school year 2019 and examine three different No Place for Hate treatment approaches in schools committed to seeking the No Place for Hate designation for the first time. The ADL will use a sample of 40 schools across two to four regions. The three-year evaluation of the impact on school climate of the framework will equip ADL with quantitative evidence to strengthen its K-12 anti-bias education programs and forge a robust case for widespread adoption that will open doors for even more schools.
