Overview
This grant will support the startup phase of the Advocacy Accelerator, a physical and virtual platform that will allow for more effective sharing of advocacy resources, tools, and lessons. The Advocacy Accelerator is designed to strengthen the effectiveness, capacity, and coordination of advocacy groups by facilitating opportunities for advocates to exchange ideas and best practices for advocacy and improving access to advocacy resources, information, and expertise. This in turn could contribute to improved policies and greater funding for health and development issues. Amref Health Africa will host the Advocacy Accelerator and provide the necessary infrastructure and support.

for support of resource mobilization planning
This organizational effectiveness grant to Amref Health Africa will support the Advocacy Accelerator in developing and implementing a business development and resource mobilization plan. Specifically, the funding will allow the Advocacy Accelerator to work with a team of consultants to conduct a sustainability market check and receive resource mobilization and strategic communications capacity support. These efforts aim to attract new core funding as the team seeks to diversify its donor portfolio.

This grant will provide flexible support for the continued growth of the Advocacy Accelerator, an African-led sharing and learning platform that offers innovative capacity strengthening approaches to increase the impact of local advocacy in Africa. The Advocacy Accelerator aims to respond to the needs of advocacy communities with platforms that facilitate the sharing of knowledge and evidence. During the grant period, the Advocacy Accelerator will provide interactive and accessible training content and workshops to reproductive health advocates; deepen its knowledge management practice; and design evaluation and learning systems to document its impact and value add in the African health and development advocacy ecosystem.
