Grants to this Grantee
for the Hydropower Reform Coalition
Founded in 1992, the Hydropower Reform Coalition (a fiscally sponsored project of American Rivers), is a diverse consortium of more than 160 national, regional, and local conservation and recreation organizations dedicated to protecting and restoring rivers affected by hydropower dams. Working together, the coalition has protected or restored thousands of river miles, thousands of acres of watershed land, and countless opportunities for boating, fishing, and other recreational experiences. (Substrategy: Advance Conservation Protections.)
for support of the Hydropower Reform Coalition
American Rivers’ Hydropower Reform Coalition is a consortium of more than 150 conservation and recreation groups focused on protecting and restoring rivers from harm caused by dams. With this grant, the coalition would focus on using the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s dam relicensing process and the designation of wild and scenic rivers to protect 3,000 river miles in California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
