American Federation of Teachers Educational Foundation

The American Federation of Teachers Education Foundation is a nonprofit entity, affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, with a mission of advancing, through research and education, the values of education, health, economic justice, and democracy. This grant will support a pilot project to establish a broad research, education, and communications effort in support of post-neoliberal policy approaches.

The goal of the American Federation of Teachers Educational Foundation is to find ways to help all children — particularly low-income and minority children — access a great public education. The foundation works to identify, nurture, and bring to scale union- and educator-led innovations in public education. The foundation will support the creation of a stand-alone professional development course to teach civics education in U.S. classrooms and produce a national cadre of civics education trainers to facilitate the delivery of the professional development module.
