Overview
American Conservatory Theater (ACT) is a Tony Award-winning theater, accredited actor conservatory, and provider of education and community programs that reach more than 200,000 people annually. In addition to ACT’s seven-show season at its iconic 1,040-seat Geary Theater, it offers more than seventy-five readings, workshops, and performances at locations throughout San Francisco, which provide performance opportunities for its M.F.A. program and Young Conservatory students. Following a period of notable physical growth, including opening its newest venue, The Strand Theater, this summer, renewed funding will support ACT’s goals to refine its new operating model, develop its audience engagement efforts, and expand its arts education and community programs.
