Overview
Carbon accounting of financed emissions is foundational for aligning finance portfolios with climate change mitigation. This work seeks to (a) expand a global carbon accounting standard for financed emissions (known as the Platform Carbon Accounting Financials, or PCAF); (b) increase the number of financial institutions that commit to measure and disclose the carbon emissions of their loans and investments, ultimately aligning their portfolio with net-zero emissions; and (c) provide technical assistance to the participating institutions in order to adapt the global standard to the regional context, and implement carbon accounting within their firms.
