Overview
Communities First Fund, a project of the Amalgamated Foundation, seeks to transform how federal, state, and local governments invest public dollars in Black, Indigenous, People of Color and low-wealth communities. This grant will fund regional convenings — bringing together federal, state, tribal, and local leaders to support the coordination and equitable implementation of climate-related federal funding. These regional convenings will provide capacity, technical assistance, guidance, and pre-development support for community plans. (Substrategy: U.S. National Policy)

for the Families and Workers Fund’s Powering Good Climate and Infrastructure Careers Funding Initiative
The Families and Workers Fund, a project of the Amalgamated Foundation, has launched the Powering Good Climate and Infrastructure Careers Fund to ensure that the workforce components of implementation of U.S. federal climate investment laws succeed. The fund will use philanthropic capital as a catalyst to train and place workers into good-quality clean tech infrastructure careers. The fund builds inclusive and accessible career pathways for Americans that improve the economic fortunes of communities and families, while deepening public support for climate action as a driver of good jobs. for the BuildUS Fund project
The BuildUS Fund is a donor collaborative fiscally sponsored by Amalgamated Charitable Foundation. Its goals are to (1) maximize the economic transformation and decarbonization potential of recently adopted laws in the United States, such as the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS Act, for communities of color and other vulnerable, neglected and underserved communities, (2) accelerate investment into neglected communities in ways that advance a vision for reimagined capitalism, and (3) educate and inform the public about clean energy and equity-reminded reforms.
