Overview
The Alliance for Excellent Education encourages policies supporting high school reform and increased student achievement and attainment, particularly through an emphasis on deeper learning, digital learning, and the Common Core State Standards. The Alliance will help education leaders recognize and reflect on how local implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) can promote deeper learning student outcomes and will host activities related to the release of the results of the most recent Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Its work will inform leaders who look to support innovation for better student outcomes that align with deeper learning.

for the Federal and State Policy Cluster collaboration
The Alliance for Excellent Education encourages policies supporting high school reform and increased student achievement and attainment, particularly through an emphasis on deeper learning, digital learning, and the Common Core State Standards. On behalf of the "cluster" of Hewlett Foundation grantees working on policy reform, the Alliance will allocate organizational effectiveness funds to support increased coordination and collaboration among those organizations conducting research, advocacy, and outreach activities. Support for mutual planning and activities will help "cluster" participants share plans and metrics and act in greater unison for deeper learning reform at the state and federal levels.
