Overview
ActionAid is an international network building a just, equitable, and sustainable world in solidarity with communities on the front lines of poverty and injustice. This grant to ActionAid USA will continue to support the Valuing Women’s Work and Young Urban Women projects under one grant. ActionAid USA will promote movement building with young urban women in Ghana, India, and South Africa around economic security, bodily integrity, and unpaid care work. ActionAid USA will support convenings, networking, and the presence of advocates in key decision-making spaces, and it will advocate for economic policy alternatives with a feminist lens. for convening and connecting movements in Africa on feminist alternatives to neoliberalism
ActionAid USA is the U.S. branch of ActionAid International, which works in more than 50 countries to achieve social justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication. ActionAid builds international momentum for social, economic, and environmental justice, driven by people living in poverty and exclusion. This grant will support the convening of a group of strategic thinkers, including feminists, from across Africa on building a new economic paradigm to replace neoliberalism.
