Overview
This grant to ActionAid US will allow them to carry out an organizational effectiveness assessment to carry out a comprehensive financial analysis, staffing model assessment, review the value proposition of the ActionAid model, review revenues sources, and interviews with funders to understand the reasons behind recent funding shifts towards grassroots organizations directly, rather than through intermediaries. Based on these findings the consultant will develop a fundraising diversification and sustainability plan, including a work plan, fundraising benchmarks, and potential donors.

ActionAid’s work aims to build local to global momentum for social, economic, and environmental justice, driven by women and young people living in poverty and exclusion. This grant will support ActionAid’s work on women’s economic justice and rights through the Young Urban Women and Valuing Women’s Work programs in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, and South Africa, as well as regionally and globally. These programs collaborate in challenging mainstream macroeconomic policies, narratives, and institutions that fail to recognize and value women’s paid and unpaid work and undermine their access to decent work and bodily autonomy and integrity.
