Abhinaya Dance Company of San Jose

Abhinaya Dance Company teaches and performs Bharatanatyam, a classical South Indian dance form, and builds community among Indian American residents. The organization's year-round training program reaches more than 100 girls and young women, ages 6 to 18, and offers a career development program for emerging dance teachers and choreographers. Its professional dance company reaches more than 15,000 people through its concert season and performances at venues, community sites, and local schools in the South Bay region. This grant to Abhinaya advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy and will support an organizational assessment and leadership succession planning process.
