Overview
Abhinaya Dance Company teaches Bharatanatyam, the traditional practice of classical South Indian dance, and builds community among Indian American residents. Its intensive year-round training program reaches more than 100 girls and young women, aged six to 18, and the company also offers a career development program for emerging dance teachers and choreographers. Its professional dance company reaches more than 15,000 people through its concert season and performances at regional venues, community sites, and local schools in the South Bay. A renewal grant to Abhinaya will help strengthen the company’s sustainability by building its board and developing a succession plan.
