Grants to this Grantee
for support of the MAMA Network’s advocacy to increase access to reproductive health care in Africa
This grant to Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health (TICAH) will support the MAMA Network in enabling women to make informed decisions about their health. The MAMA Network is a collective of grassroots organizations in Africa dedicated to sharing and learning best practices in self-care in sexual and reproductive health through training community organizations, disseminating accurate information, facilitating access to essential commodities, and creating enabling conditions for care. During the grant period, the MAMA Network aims to deepen its work guided by the goals and outcomes outlined in its strategic plan. (Strategy: Global Reproductive Equity)
for general operating support
As a leading African feminist organization, Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health (TICAH) works to ensure women and girls access high-quality, comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and services, including contraception and safe abortion. Through its Our Bodies, Our Choices program, TICAH builds the agency and ownership of communities to identify and realize their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) needs and works with marginalized populations as equal partners in achieving SRHR and social inclusion. TICAH plans to implement its strategic plan, capitalizing on its Art-Culture-Health framework to bring attention to gender justice and how “choice” is understood, acted upon, and reflected in SRHR services and policies throughout Kenya.
