for support of Jackson Public Schools recovery planning efforts
The Jackson Public Schools is at a major inflection point as it emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. The district is committed to continuing its transformation efforts related to meaningful teaching and learning for all its students. While it is blessed with a substantial influx of federal funds for pandemic recovery, it has both a significant deferred maintenance problem requiring immediate attention and continuing enrollment declines that put pressure on its core operating budget. Meeting these challenges puts a premium on planning and decision making. In partnership with the Community Foundation For Mississippi, this grant supports the district’s efforts to refine its use of COVID-19 recovery funds and improve key central office work processes in support of its district transformation efforts.
