Overview
Launched in 2008, the Institute for Constitutional History is a collaboration between the New-York Historical Society, George Washington University Law School and, more recently, Stanford Law School. The Institute works to prepare a new generation of constitutional scholars and teachers, and to renew current faculty members’ interest in and enthusiasm for the Constitution, with the ultimate goal of making Constitutional study a regular part of secondary education and the liberal arts curriculum. To support this, the Institute offers specialized seminars for graduate students and junior faculty in the humanities, more intensive summer teaching workshops and interdisciplinary research seminars and, more recently, a program aiming to increase and improve the teaching of constitutional history in secondary schools.
