Overview
Building on earlier Hewlett Foundation support, Achieve proposes to work with twenty states to support the development, adoption, and use of high-quality instructional materials based on the Common Core. States will identify existing materials to serve as models of instruction, adopt quality standards, and influence processes for state adoption of new instructional materials.

for development of tools and capacity to undertake external reviews of state assessments
Achieve is an independent, nonpartisan education reform organization dedicated to working with states to raise academic standards and graduation requirements, improve assessments, and strengthen accountability. States adopting new college- and career-ready assessments of student achievement will work voluntarily with Achieve to "test the test" by gauging alignment to state standards, quality of content, and depth of cognitive demand. Ensuring that measurement of deeper learning outcomes is accurate, useful, and widespread will require states to adopt high-quality assessment systems rather than choose them primarily on the basis of price or test duration.
