for helping colleges improve effectiveness by defining, measuring, and using learning outcomes
This grant would help the New Leadership Alliance for Student Learning and Accountability—a group of higher education leaders and institutions—continue leading voluntary and cooperative efforts to gather, report, and use evidence to improve student learning.
for certifying and promoting the development of higher education accountability systems
Hamilton College will support the New Leadership Alliance for Student Learning and Accountability-a group of higher education leaders and institutions-in its pilot of a national voluntary program to certify and recognize colleges and universities with an exemplary record of defining, measuring, and using student learning outcomes to improve their institutions. They would be required to have developed a common set of learning outcomes (including deeper learning); processes for gathering, analyzing, using, and reporting on evidence of student achievement; and ways to use this evidence to improve academic programs and student support.
