Overview
A nonpartisan research organization, the Public Policy Institute of California gathers and disseminates information to guide public policy decisions by politicians, communities, and other stakeholders. It conducts surveys on topics that include the environment, education, and economic development. This grant would enable the Institute to continue their annual survey on climate change, air pollution, and land use for the next three years. Its poll has been an invaluable resource for the environmental advocacy that the Hewlett Foundation supports. The surveys will continue to be translated into six languages, including Spanish, and released to media outlets and in other forums that reach policymakers. The Public Policy Institute of California will work with New America Media to conduct a briefing for the growing ethnic media audience.
