Grupo de Analisis para el Desarrollo

For The Southern Voice Secretariat

Overview
Grupo de Analisis para el Desarrollo (GRADE) serves as the institutional host of Southern Voice, a network of over 50 think tanks from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The goal of Southern Voice is that scholarship and scholars from the Global South are more influential in global policy deliberations. Southern Voice works to change two things: global policies, through the research it produces and disseminates; and the policymaking process, through increasing the participation of scholars from the Global South. Under this grant, the network will produce collaborative research, promote policy dialogues, and inform global policy audiences with country-based knowledge on implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Grants to this Grantee
for the Southern Voice secretariat
Grupo de Análisis para el Desarrollo serves as the institutional host for Southern Voice, a network of over 50 think tanks from Africa, Latin America, and South Asia working toward a power shift in the global debates on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through collaborative cross-country research, policy engagement with the U.N. and European systems, and bridging between national and global policy issues, Southern Voice elevates ideas and scholars from the Global South into global development policy debates and advances evidence-informed policies in support of the SDGs and global COVID response. To this end, Southern Voice promotes a change in the culture, norms, and practices of global policy discussions toward becoming more deliberative, inclusive, and evidence-based. (Strategy: Evidence-Informed Policymaking)
for writing a paper on future directions for impact evaluations
This grant will support one of three papers that the Global Development and Population Program is commissioning about the role of impact evaluations in informing development policy and programming. The Group for Analysis of Development (GRADE) is a Peruvian think tank with fifteen years of experience conducting impact evaluations of public sector programs in the country and region. This paper will draw on lessons from the organization’s evaluation work, especially as it relates to informing national and regional policy and programming. Together, the three papers will both inform the field of impact evaluation, as well as the strategy development for the Program's Evidence-Informed Policymaking sub-component.
