Overview
The King Baudouin Foundation serves as the institutional host for OPAL, the Open Algorithms Project. OPAL aims to enable use of telecommunications data and other private sector data for public policy decision making. With this grant, OPAL will continue partnerships with national statistical offices and telecommunications firms in Senegal and Colombia to move beyond testing and piloting the OPAL model to enabling use of OPAL-derived indicators for specific government policy and program decisions. This grant will also support OPAL to formalize its institutional structure and management team, and to explore partnerships in additional countries and sectors.
