Grants to this Grantee
for support of enhancing and scaling OER and AI-assisted learning in Tennessee higher education
Achieving the Dream is the leading community college network championing evidence-based institutional transformation that improves student outcomes and closes equity gaps for students across the country. Through a community of practice, targeted support, and comprehensive research, this initiative aims to refine and expand educational practices in Tennessee and establish a scalable model for statewide transformation through open educational resources, open educational practices, and artificial intelligence. This approach ensures that the integration of OER and AI tools not only enhances the quality and accessibility of education across Tennessee but also sets a precedent for national adoption. for support of Tennessee open education statewide initiative
Achieving the Dream is a partner and champion of hard-working leaders at more than 300 community colleges across the country. With this grant, Achieving the Dream will work in close partnership with the Tennessee Board of Regents and SRI Education to study how colleges take advantage of OER and OER-enabled instructional practices to transform teaching and learning. This study, the second of two phases, will document how professional development facilitates the use of OER-enabled teaching practices, examine the outcomes of students enrolled in OER courses, and offer insights into how the implementation of these practices can be organized at the state level. for support of Tennessee open education statewide initiative
Achieving the Dream is the leading college network championing evidence-based institutional transformation to help community colleges improve outcomes for low-income students and students of color who dream of achieving their goals for academic success and economic opportunity. With this grant, Achieving the Dream will work in close partnership with the Tennessee Board of Regents and SRI Education to study how colleges take advantage of OER and OER-enabled instructional practices to transform teaching and learning. This research will inform how faculty incorporate open educational resources and practices in their instruction and how students experience these courses. (Substrategy: Sustainable Systems)
