Overview
Achieve is an independent, nonpartisan education reform organization dedicated to working with states to raise academic standards and graduation requirements, improve assessments, and strengthen accountability. Achieve supports states to adopt high-quality instructional materials, to ensure equity in course-taking by students, and to "test their test" by gauging alignment to state standards, quality of content, and depth of cognitive demand. Ensuring that instruction and measurement for deeper learning is rigorous will require states to adopt materials and assessment systems based on quality rather than choose them primarily on the basis of price or simplicity.

Grants to this Grantee
for development of tools and capacity to undertake external reviews of state assessments
Achieve is an independent, nonpartisan education reform organization dedicated to working with states to raise academic standards and graduation requirements, improve assessments, and strengthen accountability. States adopting new college- and career-ready assessments of student achievement will work voluntarily with Achieve to "test the test" by gauging alignment to state standards, quality of content, and depth of cognitive demand. Ensuring that measurement of deeper learning outcomes is accurate, useful, and widespread will require states to adopt high-quality assessment systems rather than choose them primarily on the basis of price or test duration.
