Overview
Zohar Dance Company is dedicated to making dance accessible, inclusive, vibrant, relevant and integral to its South Bay community. Zohar offers an Open Program of weekly dance classes for adults in jazz, ballet, contemporary and modern dance, as well as annual performance opportunities for these students. With the recent and unexpected passing of its founder, Ehud Krauss, the company is revisiting its strategic plan to find the most thoughtful path forward. Renewed support will allow Zohar to continue its classes and company performances, explore new opportunities to present local dance artists, and determine the future of its outreach programs to children with special needs, which Ehud so specially and beautifully stewarded.

Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Zohar Dance Company makes dance accessible, inclusive, and relevant through programs targeted to those who would otherwise be unlikely to experience dance. The company provides in-school dance classes and performance opportunities to more than 400 at-risk and underprivileged elementary students in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, as well as children with special education needs. Zohar rounds out its programming with a regular schedule of dance classes for adults in its studio, providing a complete spectrum of community outreach. A renewal grant would support core programs, the addition of teaching assistants, and the updating of communication and outreach tools.
