IntraHealth

For Support Of Applying Behavioral Insights To Improve FPRH Services

Overview
This grant will enable IntraHealth International to work with Behavioral Ideas Lab (ideas42) and the Senegalese Ministry of Health to improve the integration of family planning with child immunization services through behaviorally informed interventions. By designing and testing interventions based on possible behavioral challenges associated with current integration practices, IntraHealth hopes to gain valuable insights that can potentially increase the uptake and use of family planning among postpartum women in Senegal. The close partnership with the Ministry of Health is a critical component of the project, as wide-scale testing and scale-up would benefit from the support of the Senegalese government.

Grants to this Grantee
for support to civil society advocacy coalitions in West Africa
IntraHealth International facilitates the Strengthening Civil Society Engagement for Family Planning in West Africa project from their offices in Mali. This grant will allow IntraHealth to implement a one-year transitional phase of the project, which will deepen family planning advocacy efforts by coalitions across all nine Francophone West African countries. This work complements the goals of the Ouagadougou Partnership and brings together civil society advocates, religious leaders, young people, and other members of civil society to more effectively promote the provision of family planning through improved policies and strategies. The Ouagadougou Partnership is in the midst of determining the future of the partnership from 2020 to 2030, which includes an assessment of the role civil society has played and could play in promoting family planning use in the region.
for support to civil society advocacy coalitions in West Africa
IntraHealth International, Inc. facilitates the Civil Society for Family Planning project (CS4FP) from their offices in Dakar, Senegal. This support would allow IntraHealth to implement the next phase of the CS4FP project, which will deepen family planning advocacy efforts in Senegal, Mali, and Benin and launch new advocacy coalitions in Burkina Faso and Niger. This work is highly complementary to the goals of the Ouagadougou Partnership and provides civil society advocates–religious leaders, young people, health care workers, traditional advocates–the training and platforms required to more effectively promote the provision of family planning.
