Overview
Alonzo King LINES Ballet is recognized internationally for its signature dance vocabulary rooted in classical ballet. Each year, it performs for more than 52,000 people in the United States and abroad, including two seasons in San Francisco. It also annually provides pre-professional training for 250 young dancers, free programs that serve 500 local youths, a bachelor of arts in dance in partnership with Dominican University, and more than eighty weekly classes for 5,000 students at its Dance Center in San Francisco’s Central Market neighborhood. The organization plans to expand its performance schedule domestically and internationally, increase the number of male students in many of its programs, maintain the number of classes it offers at the LINES Dance Center, and begin to plan for the succession of its artistic leadership.
