Overview
This grant would provide general operating support to Planned Parenthood Shasta Diablo, which operates under the name Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific (PPSP). PPSP provides reproductive health services to low-income and underserved individuals, the majority of whom live in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Contra Costa, Solano, and Napa counties. In 2012, more than ninety-four percent of PPSP clients had incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. With these funds, PPSP plans to continue to expand its services, including opening large new health centers in San Rafael and Vallejo. These facilities are strategically located to be accessible to low-income individuals in high-need neighborhoods and will be large enough to accommodate medical residents from UCSF and other medical schools who are training in family planning and abortion.
