Overview
The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is an independent, nonpartisan pan-African not-for-profit organization. Currently engaged in more than 25 African countries, PASGR’s mission is to advance research excellence for governance and public policy in Africa. This grant will support PASGR’s Utafiti Sera program, which creates and supports research-to-policy communities to promote and support evidence-informed policy decision making. These Utafiti Sera communities bring together scholars, government officials, and civil society leaders working in specific sectors in Kenya and Rwanda to collaboratively prioritize policy questions, identify and fill research gaps to respond to these questions, and draw on research findings to inform policymaking. The Utafiti Sera approach prioritizes strengthening a culture and practice of evidence use among government partners in these countries and sharing learning about this with the broader evidence-informed policymaking field. for research and outreach on water sector accountability to improve governance and service delivery
The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is an independent, pan-African nonprofit organization that works to build a vibrant social sciences community and enhance excellence and use of public policy research in Africa. Through this grant, PASGR will further generate and provide African policy actors with quality social science research that addresses accountability for water as a governance issue. PASGR will continue to create a safe space for stakeholders in the sector to engage and jointly find solutions to accountability challenges in four countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia.
