For The La Promotora De Acción E Información Social (PRACCIS) Project In Mexico

Overview
Echoing Green will serve as fiscal sponsor for La Promotora de Acción e Información Social (PRACCIS), an organization dedicated to increasing corporate accountability in Mexico and throughout Latin America. Its goal is to educate the public about issues related to corporate social responsibility. The organization also seeks to train stakeholders to use more and better information about how corporations operate, to hold corporations accountable for the effects of their activities on local communities. This grant will help fund a Who’s Who Wiki for corporate accountability, an open-source, web-based tool designed to compile information on the behavior of major corporations working in Mexico. The project will emphasize the publication and dissemination of information about public procurement processes, and large public works projects that are outsourced to private corporations. This information will feed into the organization’s support for citizen monitoring of the execution of these publicly funded projects.
