Overview
The California Desert Solar and Land Conservation Working Group was initiated two years ago by the Resources Legacy Fund and is comprised of representatives of solar energy companies, utilities, and conservation groups. This grant would continue support for the Working Group as it seeks to build broad support for new utility-scale solar projects in the California desert that are both economically feasible and environmentally sensible. Additionally, the Working Group would continue its work with the Department of the Interior to finalize a West-wide plan for solar development on public lands that identifies zones where solar development would be encouraged.
