Planned Parenthood Los Angeles

For Support Of Testing New Approaches To Abortion Canvassing

Overview
Many believe that a key ingredient in the recent change in public opinion in support of gay marriage has been the fact that many gay individuals have "come out" and talked to others about being gay. This project builds on other recent grants in evaluating whether hearing from a woman who has had an abortion makes the listener more supportive of abortion rights. This grant would enable Planned Parenthood Los Angeles to test whether a door-to-door canvassing method, patterned on one developed around same sex marriage, in which the canvassers share their personal abortion experiences results in increased support for abortion rights.
