Ipas

For Support Of The Francophone Africa Safe Abortion Network

Overview
This grant to Ipas will support the establishment of an action network for safe abortion in Francophone West Africa. Following the Hewlett Foundation-supported convening of safe abortion champions in December 2019, the foundation and other stakeholders decided to establish a regional movement for safe abortion with a small staff to support the work of national coalitions. The network will convene and coordinate efforts within and across countries and support cross-learning and advocacy for all aspects of safe abortion programming. This grant will be co-funded by the Packard Foundation and the Foundation for a Just Society International and is aligned with the International Reproductive Health substrategy to end unsafe abortion in Francophone West Africa.
