Overview
KQED is Northern California’s largest public broadcasting media outlet, and the largest public media organization in the country in terms of membership and audience size. The Arts and Culture desk of KQED is an integral part of the organization’s work to inform, inspire, and invite residents to participate in a robust democracy and a just society. Its arts and culture programs include documentary videos, journalistic news features and investigations, podcasts, TV programming, and in-person events at its newly renovated building in San Francisco. Support for KQED Arts advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.

for support of the MindShift blog and digital reporting platform
KQED informs and engages the public in California and nationwide with trustworthy journalism about key issues of community concern. This grant will support the growth of MindShift, a KQED digital reporting vertical that examines important developments and exciting practices in teaching and learning. This work advances the foundation’s Education Program goals of lifting up new exemplars of teacher practice, fostering new knowledge about transforming education systems, and providing a platform for new voices in our discourse about public education.
