Overview
The Boston Plan for Excellence (BPE) continues its partnership with Boston Public Schools in piloting a formative assessment system for K-8 reading in K-8. Currently over fifty Boston schools are using BPE's Formative Assessments of Student Thinking in Reading (FAST-R). It includes analysis tools for identifying gaps in students' reading and comprehension skills and coaching to help teachers tailor instruction to meet students' needs. Responding to multiple external requests, the BPE also will begin planning for the use of FAST-R in other districts in Massachusetts.
