Overview
The Environmental Protection Agency has proposed a rule clarifying what wetlands and waterways fall under its permitting. The rule was deemed necessary to reduce confusion caused by two conflicting Supreme Court decisions. A new rule will reduce the loss of wetlands and ephemeral waterways. This grant would support the Western Conservation Foundation's effort to build support for the rule and to counter misperceptions about its impact among farmers, ranchers and the general public. The Western Conservation Foundation will engage supporters of the proposed rule from agriculture, farming, business, and the sporting community to act as spokespeople as well as engage the press and decision-makers.
