Susan Meaney
Board member since 2020.
Susan Meaney was a managing director at Makena Capital Management from 2006 through 2019. She was member of the firm’s management committee and one of the firm’s founding partners. Susan was responsible for managing the firm’s real estate investments as well as contributing to the real assets portfolio.
Prior to joining Makena Capital, she was the director of real estate and real assets investments for the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation from 2002-2006.
She served as a managing director at the Stanford Management Company from 1993-2001 where she co-managed the real estate group. Prior to that, she was responsible for the development and management of the Stanford Research Park where she oversaw the development of over one million square feet on behalf of the university.
Susan currently serves on the board of CBRE Group, Inc. and KKR Real Estate Select Trust. She also serves as a Senior Advisor to KSL Capital, a private travel and leisure focused fund. She serves on the board of the Hewlett Foundation and chairs the foundation’s Investment Committee.
Susan graduated from Stanford University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree, with honors, and earned a master’s of business administration degree from The Tuck School at Dartmouth in 1986.
