Patrick Collins

Chief Information Officer

Patrick Collins is the Chief Information Officer at The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of the foundation’s information technology. He also manages a small portfolio of grants pertaining to information technology.

Before joining the foundation in 2005, Patrick was director of information and communication services at the University of California Office of the President. Earlier in his career, Patrick directed two academic data centers: the California Census Research Data Center at UCLA and UC Berkeley, and the National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect at Cornell University. He has contributed to many scholarly publications as a data analyst, statistician, and author.

Patrick serves on the Foundation Center’s board of trustees and the Project Simplify advisory committee. He received a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
